Linda Goff
Quirkworks
Although I have worked in a variety
of media, I've been a metal worker and enamelist for over
twenty years, and this background
has influenced my current work in wire and polymer clay.
Each wire and polymer clay piece
begins by hand-shaping, wrapping, and adding beads to a length
of
metal wire which is then filled
with polymer clay. The clay surface is built up using shapes cut
from thin sheets of clay and details
are added using metallic powders, texture and gold leaf.
Some complex pieces require several
steps of assembly and baking for completion.
By contrasting the textures of metal
wire and polymer clay, lightweight wearable art is created
using natural and abstract designs,
as well as Pacific Northwest themes. I have also created
a number of unusual personalized
custom orders. My work has been sold to shops and galleries
over much of the Pacific Northwest,
and my jewelry is owned by individuals in various
places throughout the United States,
Europe and Asia.
